Food Manager Training and Testing National Registry of Food Safety Professionals logo.


Florida Community College at Jacksonville offers free food manager workshops each month, with the National Registry's Food Safety Manager Certification Examination offered immediately after the training. The National Registry Food Safety Manager Certification Examination is a State of Florida approved food manager certification exam.

Workshop Dates

The food manager workshops are held at the Urban Resource Center located at 601 W. State Street in downtown Jacksonville. Free parking is available for all workshop attendees.

All workshops begin at 10 a.m. and last until 1 p.m. Pre-registration for the workshops is not required. The workshop and examination covers the 2005 FDA Food Code. The two-hour National Registry Food Safety Manager Certification Examination begins at 1:30 p.m. Most examinees finish the exam in less than two hours.

Food Manager Certification Examination

The two-hour National Registry Food Safety Manager Certification Examination is available immediately after the workshop.

The paper/pencil exams are $45 and are available in these languages:

  • English - (PC or paper test)
  • Spanish - (PC or paper test)
  • Arabic -(paper test)
  • Chinese, modern - (paper test)
  • Chinese, traditional - (paper test)
  • French - (paper test)
  • Japanese - (paper test)
  • Korean - (paper test)
  • Vietnamese - (paper test)

PC exams are $50 each and paper exams are $45 each.

PC testing may not be available on the same day as the food manager workshop. You may reserve a PC exam seat by prepaying for it. Call us at 904.632.5020 or e-mail assessme@fccj.edu for more information on reserving a PC exam seat.

Daily National Registry Food Safety Manager Certification Examination testing is also available Monday - Saturday, by appointment. Call us at 904.632.5020 or e-mail assessme@fccj.edu for available test dates and times.
