Jacksonville Area Military Programs
To accomplish this mission the College provides:
- College credit courses with an emphasis on the General Education Requirements offered at each base during Florida Community College at Jacksonville 's regular terms and additional eight-week terms.
- Classes are offered on base in a sequential program, enabling enrollment throughout the year in the Associate in Arts and selected Associate in Science degree programs.
- A full range of advising, registration, and orientation services, including entry placement testing.
- A liaison with the military educational service officers to assist students in the use of the military service financial aid programs.
- Non-college credit courses for students desiring to upgrade career and occupational skills or those seeking personal enrichment.
SOC is the Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges (SOC) dedicated to providing educational opportunities for service members and their families. Once you start your degree or certificate program with Florida Community College , this agreement will allow you to transfer your credits from one institution to another and will serve as your agreement with the College for degree or certificate completion. When you call or e-mail one of the MEI advisors, you'll be getting educational advice from advisors who are familiar with military transfer credit and the obligations of the service member.
- These roadmaps are designed to show you how to maximize the college credit you've earned in the military. By following the roadmap that matches your rate, you'll see what you've already earned toward a specific degree.
Florida Community College is a charter member of NCPDLP. The Navy has matched specific rates with degrees to help sailors maximize credits earned through their rate and training. Florida Community College degree roadmaps for the NCPDLP are available here.

Once you've completed your degree, Florida Community College has negotiated transfer agreements with 4-year institutions. By taking advantage of these agreements, you'll be able to transfer as a junior.
Note: You are not required to transfer to one of these schools. Talk to your advisor about all of your transfer options.
