Jacksonville Area Military Programs

The Jacksonville Area Military Program exists for the purpose of increasing availability of educational opportunities for military service personnel, their family members, and federal government employees at Jacksonville area naval bases and other military service facilities.

To accomplish this mission the College provides:

  • College credit courses with an emphasis on the General Education Requirements offered at each base during Florida Community College at Jacksonville 's regular terms and additional eight-week terms.
  • Classes are offered on base in a sequential program, enabling enrollment throughout the year in the Associate in Arts and selected Associate in Science degree programs.
  • A full range of advising, registration, and orientation services, including entry placement testing.
  • A liaison with the military educational service officers to assist students in the use of the military service financial aid programs.
  • Non-college credit courses for students desiring to upgrade career and occupational skills or those seeking personal enrichment.

SOC is the Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges (SOC) dedicated to providing educational opportunities for service members and their families. Once you start your degree or certificate program with Florida Community College , this agreement will allow you to transfer your credits from one institution to another and will serve as your agreement with the College for degree or certificate completion. To request a SOC agreement, click here for more information or contact Chalah Harris at 904.632.5016.
